Moments that Matter

That's one day for you folks. Let me get you started for the week to think about in that single one day - what's on your mind? Are you more focused on an endless list of to-do's, stressful situations or what happened yesterday, the day before or the months or years before?

Today the Lord very clearly told me to write about the moments that matter. In a single day, there are moments that truly matter to His Spirit and there are those moments that's best left forgotten. So the crux of the issue then is - which ones are you keeping in your heart?

The Lord says, "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." (Matthew 6:33)

In one day, people pursue their careers, their own plans and dreams. In one day, people rejoice or despair over their victories and losses. In one day, people let that day go by feeling it was mundane and better left as 'it's just another day'. In one day, people felt they made no single difference to the whole wide universe.

But as a child of God, every single day matters. Every single day is a day He gets to talk to you, to love you, to give you a hug, to listen to you, to use you as His mighty resource to touch another unsaved heart or to minister to another of His beloved. Every single day, you live as a king in Him; as a priest in Him. Every single day, you are extraordinary in Him leading extraordinary lives. You may not see it. You may not hear it. You may not feel it. But that is the life of faith in Him. Every single day, He makes it beautiful for you. He makes moments that matters for you.

What are these moments? The moment a loved one received Jesus as Lord and your heart rejoices. The moment you are in the midst of a 10,000 congregation and yet still He makes His presence felt to you that you are the only single one that matters to Him there and then. The moment you lift up your hands and felt His warm embrace covers you. The moment you look up into the sky and see through the dark clouds - a single ray of sunshine breaks through for you. The moment you walk among crowds and yet feel His tender breeze on your skin. The moment you look into someone's eyes and say I love you. The moment you open the Bible and He talks to you. The moment you surrender all your burdens and He sweeps you off your feet eagerly.

The life as Abba's beloved are filled with moments that matter. Don't let the mundane or unimportant distractions get you away from those moments in a day. Open your heart to those moments and remember that each of those moments is Him telling you, "I love you".
